Private Vs. Non Private

30 03 2009

This may not seem like a big deal to anyone but me, but I have been so upset these past few days by the comments being put on my blog.  It hurts to see that someone can write such horrible things to someone they don’t even know.

Then I got to reading all the comments send over the past 24 hours of people asking to keep reading.  Many people are people I have never met, asking for me to see their blogs, send them an e mail…anything so that they can continue to read.  People that love the cloth diapering posts, homeschooling posts etc.

Then I went back to my reason for opening a blog.  To be able to share what Christ is doing in my life, in hopes that others would see Christ and follow him as well.  If I make it a private blog many would not come to see that in me.

So, I think I will keep it public, but just ignore what someone is writing.  The good thing is that wordpress will tell you the IP for the computer someone is writing from, so my sister (a police officer) has been told etc.  So if it continues I may have to place a complaint.  Something I just don’t want to do, I would rather this person see Christ in me and my family.

Please bear with me during this time.  I am hurt right now and just trying to figure out what to do and what would be best for me and my family etc.

I have lots of posts in my head right now from what we are doing in 2009-2010 for school for the kids to some neat organizational tips someone shared with me to us having our Ultra Sound on Friday!  Yeah.  So, please pray for me, pray that God will give me wisdom and peace.

Thank you everyone, life is not easy but my God never moves from his Throne!

May become private….

29 03 2009

Okay, I maybe able to make my blog private.  So if I am able to do that I will just add those that I want to see my blog.  Please e mail me if you would like to be on the list to continue to read my blog.

I have had lots of people tell me they want me to continue to blog.  So if you have my e mail please e mail and let me know.  If you don’t have my e mail, please leave a comment and I will add you (only if I know who you are) with your e mail. I will not post it so no one would see your e mail but me.

Blog closing….

29 03 2009

I just wanted everyone to know that we will be closing this blog!  The comments that are being sent about of Dave’s cousin are not stoping.  I will not let this continue.

I hope to hear from everyone we know in other ways.  If you were just a reader, I appreciate your comments.

Have a great day.

EDIT: I want to thank everyone that is e mailing me telling me how much they have enjoyed reading my blog. I have loved writing on it and have enjoyed sharing my life with others.  Some people feel they need to push their views in a harassing way.  I can’t have that happen to my family.  I have not been allowing the comments to show up on the blog, but they are being sent.   I am sorry,  and I hope to be able to keep up with everyone another way.  Much love!

WOW! I can’t believe how fast it is going. We go for an Ultrasound the first part of April and we are excited to see our little “champ” kicking around.

We have choosen the name “Champ” while the baby is in the whomb. Our friend Georganna told us about the name. She thought that after having the miscarriage this baby was a fighter and this name would fit.

At times I still think about the baby in November, but I am learning to be thankful in all circumstances and that God’s plan for my life is always the best.

The baby’s heartbeat was 157 which is great news….a healthy little beating heart. I am up 1 lbs. so far this preg. which is much higher than I have ever been in the past.

Just wanted to update.

What Does Servant for Him mean? And other stuff…

15 03 2009

If you have made a comment on my blog in the past few days you may have noticed that I have changed the setting so that I have to approve all comments before they can be seen by the public.

Have you wondered who I am a servant for?   If you know me than this hopefully isn’t even and issue.  But for those who don’t know me or my family we are servants for the Lord Jesus Christ!  He is head of our home and the leader of our lives.  My husband and I have given our lives over to Him (Jesus) and try to live our lives to his plans and laws with the help of the Holy Spirit.

Now, If you know me…..you know I love a good debate!  I love to hear different options and thoughts about life etc.  But at NO time will I allow cursing, swearing, harassment, sexual content or tasteless comments on my blog!  If you choose to do so your comments will be sent to wordpress as well as ignored.

Now, if you read a comment that was made on my blog last week I am sorry.  I was out of town and did not have Internet access.  I did receive many phone calls alerting me to the comments made.  The person who choose to make some very judgmental and tasteless comments has continued to make them.  If you are reading this you might want to read all that I have said about the Letkemann case.  We were on both sides, not only did my husband know Sorensen, he grew up playing with him and going to his house.  He lost a childhood friend as well as a cousin to prison.  We have not judged this case and will not, we were not on the jury.

So, I hope all the readers that come by regularly will continue to hear about homeschooling, cloth diapers, family, spiritual growth etc. for me.  Enjoy reading blogers!

Getting Organized Tip #3

5 03 2009

How do you feel about your closets?  From what I have learned most people struggle with their children’s closets the most.  They get messy and disorganized very quickly.  One reason for this is because we make children’s closets like we would adult closets.  This doesn’t work for little ones trying to learn to be independent!  They need the things they use the most to be reachable and organized (so that they know where to put things back or retrieve them).

Our children go and get themselves ready for bed.  They can do this totally on their own because they each have a bin for their P.J’s that is neat and reachable by them.  NOTE: Owen is only 1 year he does not get himself ready on his own yet.  They are able to get their own pull-ups if they wear them or clean underwear and P.J’s without destroying the rest of the closet.

If you have more than one child sharing a closet it can get a little more tricky trying to fit everything in one closet.  Our boys share a closet, so we use a closet organizer to keep all of their thing in one place.  Now because they share Isaac can not reach his shirts or pants so I have to pull them down for him in the morning.  We are thinking of getting a step stool for him but have not decided yet.

Here are some pics of our closets to give you some ideas for your own closets.

Here is part of the boys closet. Owen's shirts are on the bottom right and Isaac's the upper right. On the bottom left is 2 bins (not seen in this photo) that hold P.J's and under clothes for Isaac. On the shelves are little baskets for Owen's socks and undershirts, then his pants are above. Then Isaac's are above that.

This is showing the area for full length outfits. This area is for when a shirt has a certain pair of pants it goes with. We hang them together so that they are easy to get to and the other parent (my husband) knows that they have a matching pair of pants.

Having one child in a closet is a lot easier to organize and keep neat. This is Grace's closet. She has a hanging area on the left, bins for underwear, socks and P.J's under that and then her pants are on the right. Simple.

Now, closets don’t need to be picture perfect (as you can tell from my pics, I still have work to do) but they need to work for you!  Make your child’s closet save you time!!!  You want it be able to work for you family.  Enjoy organizing today!

Getting Organized Tip #2

4 03 2009

Are you ready for tip number 2?  Well, this one is for anyone that has lots of toys and children, is that you?  Is your playroom or bedrooms a mess?

I have learned that children do NOT understand the toy box idea.  Having all the toys in one spot makes them dump EVERYTHING while looking for something.

For my children we have given everything a spot.  Then we made some rules.  In our home each of our children are allowed 1 bin each, if they want another they need to clean up the bin they have out first.  This works pretty good, now they are children and we have to start over and teach them often.  Owen (20 months) doesn’t understand so he is still in the training phase.

Here are some pics of our playroom to give you some ideas.

These are the bins that my children get to choose from. We don't have labels on them because they have not had trouble knowing what goes where. I suggest you use pictures if your children are young, this way you don't have to read the labels to them.

If you have a big item, make sure you have the things that go with it organized so that your little ones can enjoy it.

Make sure you have a spot for big bulky items. These can get in the way if they don't have their own spot.

Playrooms can be great or just trouble.  Setting yours up for your children will help them understand what it is to look like at the end of the day.
